What a year. Between the primaries, the election, and the post-election absurdity we’ve been witnessing for the past six weeks, I know many of us are ready to say goodbye to this year. But believe it or not: despite all of this, I’m still calling 2016 a success for the Power Shift Network.

Mourn, Then Organize.

It’s hard to know what to say right now.

Last night, Americans faced a hard truth: racism, sexism, xenophobia, bigotry, hatred and fear are still very much alive and well in our country. Those darkest, ugliest impulses celebrated an enormous victory last night.

But I’m writing to make a commitment to you, and to everyone I love, that we will not let this kill our spirit.
