Digital Fellow

Job Location: Remote! Anywhere in the US.

Hours and Compensation: 10-15 hours a week, $15 an hour before state and federal withholding, 25% cell phone reimbursement

PSN is excited to launch its inaugural Digital Fellowship program! Power Shift Network is a network of 85+ organizations that centers youth leadership in the fight to halt pending climate catastrophe. We are looking within our network(s) for individuals interested in building their communications & digital management skills. We are looking for two individuals who will work closely together to help us hone our internal and external communications systems and strategies. Our vision is that one fellow will be focused on external communications, to build the quality of our digital program with regards to outside audiences, and another fellow who will be focused on fostering connectivity within our network.

External Digital Fellow Responsibilities

  • Help develop creative original content and curated third-party content for publication on the Power Shift Network social media channels including Instagram, Facebook & Twitter
  • Amplify Network members’ and allies’ campaigns and other content through our social media channels
  • Publish rapid response social media content with regard to national and global social justice-related news
  • Work with other staff to develop and execute online fundraising appeals and campaigns
  • Develop, in coordination with other staff,  digital communications orientation documents
  • Develop social media growth/influence plan
  • In coordination with peer digital fellow, support the shaping and execution of a fundraising drive.
  • Basic Graphic Design/Layout
  • Email list maintenance as needed

Internal Digital Fellow Responsibilities:

  • Solicit submissions for and production of monthly internal network newsletter
  • Support with moderating and cultivating conversations on our Slack
  • Manage email program, including maintaining a comprehensive email calendar, writing email content, coding, and sending messages
  • Lead the continued growth and improvement of the Power Shift Network’s email list, social media audiences, and overall online community through data-driven iteration, testing, and best practices
  • Work with Executive Director and other staff to develop and execute online fundraising appeals and campaigns
  • In coordination with peer digital fellow, support the shaping and execution of a fundraising drive.
  • Develop, in coordination with other staff, digital communications orientation documents
  • Solicit, edit and publish 2-3 blog posts a month from Network members
  • Basic Graphic Design/Layout
  • Email list maintenance as needed

Preferred Characteristics/Experience:

  • Familiarity with some or all of the following: Canva, Buffer, Google Suite, Slack, NeonCRM, Google Groups, Action Network, Social Media platforms
  • Experience copy editing & proofreading
  • Ability to weave compelling stories while creating a sense of urgency
